Organic Japanese Tea - ZAIRAI HOJICHA - Leaves 80g

This organic Japanese tea Hojicha was produced in Miyazaki Prefecture, Kyushu.
 
Hojicha is made by roasting at high temperatures, which makes it easier to release caffeine, which has a strong stimulant effect, and tannin, which is a bitter substance.
It is less stimulating than sencha and other tea, so it can be enjoyed by adults, children and people with weak stomachs.
 
This tea is made of only the leaves picked from over 70 years ancient Japanese native tea trees. Native tea trees have grown up in the area from seed. 
Native species are grown from seeds, so they have deep roots down in the ground and absorb a lot of nutrients from the earth.
The robust, nourishing leaves of the native species, which grow in diversity, are deeply flavoured.
It can be served both hot and iced.
