HIMUKA Craft Tea Ware

Rich Tea Time with Craft Tea Ware

Our town Aya, located almost in the centre of Miyazaki Prefecture, is home to one of Japan's largest expanses of virgin evergreen forests. In 2012 the whole of Aya was registered as a UNESCO Eco-Park. Taking advantage of such rich natural bounty, various handicrafts are also popular here.
I have been exposed to handicrafts since I was a child, influenced by my parents who were dyers and weavers. I love the simplicity and warmth of handmade handicrafts,

which are not found in mass-produced machine-made

products, and the individuality and imperfection of the handicrafts, which are not the same in one piece.

HIMUKA TEA BIO sells teacups, small bowls and small dishes made by a craftsman who is an old friend of my father, as well as hand-dyed and hand-woven pieces by my father. Each piece is unique and you can feel the warmth and tenderness of nature in them.

Their works will make your tea time even more special and rich.
